WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT
MOUNT OLYMPUS PRESBYTERIAN?
We love to have guests and enjoy welcoming new people. We know that seeking a new church or coming to a new church can be intimidating. Whether you have been a Christian for a long time or are just interested in exploring faith, we welcome you. The sermons are biblical and take people seriously where they are. You will see people of all generations, from newborns to senior citizens. People dress in a variety of ways but tend to be more casual. There are Bible studies and classes to build your faith for adults all year round between our two morning services. Sunday School for children takes place from September through May.

A MATTHEW 25 CHURCH
In 2016, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) committed this denomination to being a Matthew 25 church — a church living in the ways called for by Matthew 25, especially verses 31–46. In 2018, the General Assembly approved a plan to put that commitment into action. That plan is the Matthew 25 Vision.
The Vision has three foci:
- building congregational vitality
- dismantling structural racism /about-us/anti-racism
- eradicating systemic poverty
Hundreds of congregations and many presbyteries, including the Presbytery of Utah, along with synods and other organizations, have joined the Matthew 25 Vision in commitment to addressing these three foci. The Session of Mount Olympus Presbyterian Church voted on March 21, 2023, to join this effort, making Mount Olympus a Matthew 25 church.
In doing so, we committed to focusing outreach efforts in these three directions in a greater and more focused way than we already do. While MOPC has been a constant presence in the community and beyond, becoming a Matthew 25 church makes our actions and partnerships more intentional.
