MOPC Children’s Ministry strives to be a place where children and families feel a sense of welcome, belonging, and community. We hope to provide opportunities and teaching to grow and strengthen our children's faith in God and Jesus Christ, both relationally and intellectually.

*Please note that all of our Children's Ministry volunteers undergo a background check before working with children.*

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

Who: Preschool through 5th graders

When: During both 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Services.

What: Children begin the worship experience in the sanctuary with their parents. After a short Children’s Sermon, kids are invited to leave the main service (escorted by adult staff and volunteers) to attend Children’s Church. During Children’s Church, they will have an age-appropriate lesson on the same passage of Scripture that the Pastor is preaching on in the main sanctuary. Children will also have prayer time, complete a craft, and have free play.

NURSERY CARE

Who: Babies through three year olds

When:  Sundays, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

What: Nurturing care by trained and consistent staff members for our littlest ones during their time at church. Our nursery staff models Christ's love through play, song, and art.  We believe it is never too young to share God’s love with our children.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Who: Preschool through 5th graders

When: Sundays, 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

             September-May

             (except for some holiday weekends)

What: Children are divided into multiple age-based classes. These classes are taught by some of our fabulous volunteers. During Sunday School, children study the Bible, share the “highs and lows” of their week, pray together, and play games. This hour of Bible learning is appropriate for families who desire to see their children connect with knowledgeable, loving, and consistent adults while growing deeper in their relationship with God.

Mt O 45

Who: 4th and 5th graders

When: Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
             (During the school year.)

What: Small Group for our pre-teens, led by wonderful staff and volunteers. This time allows kids to learn about God, ask questions, have fun, pray, play games, and explore friendships in a safe and supportive environment.

PARENTS' CAFÉ

Who: Parents of children and youth

When: Sundays, 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

             September-May

             (except for some holiday weekends)

What: We recognize that parenting children and teens can be both extremely wonderful and extremely challenging, sometimes simultaneously. We also recognize that parenting shouldn’t be done alone; it truly “takes a village!” Parents’ Café provides a relaxed environment for parents to learn, pray, fellowship, and support each other.

FELLOWSHIP ACTIVITIES

Who: Children and families

When: Various times and days throughout the year

What: Throughout the year, families gather to build relationships, support one another, and have fun!  MOPC offers a variety of fellowship activities for children and families. Past activities have included park days, bowling, swimming, hikes, camping, and cookouts, and our family retreat.

SERVICE PROJECTS

Who: Children and families

When: Various times and days throughout the year

What: Loving others through acts of service is part of what it means to walk with Jesus. Kids and families can participate in various service activities, including Angel Tree, Family Promise, the Utah Food Bank and One Great Hour of Sharing.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES
